Very sad news.
Two young men have died and two others are seriously injured after a single-vehicle road crash in Donegal on Friday (28 February).
The incident occurred in the townland of Baltoney in Gortahork at around 9.30pm, with the vehicle crashing into the gable wall of a house.
The driver of the vehicle – a male in his teens – and a rear-seat passenger – a man in his 20s – were fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Both bodies have been removed from the scene to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital where post-mortem examinations will take place in due course.
The front seat passenger – a man in his 20s – and a rear seat passenger – a male in his teens – were transported from the scene to Letterkenny University Hospital.
Both remain in a serious condition.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the townland of Baltoney between 9.00pm and 9.30pm last night are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí,” a Garda spokesperson said.
