We told you earlier in the year how Singh, nicknamed the Turbaned Torpdeo had announced he would stop running this year, and a 10km run in Hong Kong this weekend proved to be his swan song.

The Indian-born British national who lives in London has decided now is the time to bow out after an impressive running career. In 2011 he became the oldest man to run a full marathon in Toronto.

“I do not really want to hear the word ‘retire’ because I can still run and jump on a bus. It’s a (sense of) negativity that I have never experienced before,” he said before the race.

He completed the run in one hour, 32 minutes and 28 seconds, an incredible time for a man of his age.

Enjoy the retirement Fauja!
