Adam Johnson pleads guilty to sexual activity with a child

Sunderland footballer Adam Johnson has pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child at the Crown Court in Bradford this morning.

The BBC are reporting that Johnson pleaded guilty to one count of sexual activity with a child and one count of grooming. He continues to deny two other charges.

Johnson was arrested in March of last year and charged with three offences of sexual activity with a child under 16. He was also formally accused of grooming a child.

The trial at Bradford Crown Court is expected to last for ten days.
