He may be possibly the greatest fighter in MMA history, but Anderson Silva showed a heart of gold with a hospital visit this week.

Jose Pedro is a huge Silva fan, but the 12 year-old is in hospital as he suffers from Epiphysiolysis, a bone disease that results in the loosening or separation of an epiphysis from the shaft of a bone.
He was given a huge surprise when a doctor asked him to name some of his favourite athletes, with Silva of course on the tip of his tongue. With that, the MMA fighter strolled into the room to give the boy the surprise of his life.
He is naturally overwhelmed in the video, but Silva has plenty of words of encouragement for the youngster, telling him that he must get well soon so the two can train together.
His accomplishments inside the ring are hugely impressive, but this gesture will rank pretty high as well, a class fighter and a decent man.
