Audio: Louis Van Gaal’s ‘long-ball’ rant from today’s press conference is quite something

He's gone full Benitez here

He’s gone full Benitez here

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has always been something of a fiery and eccentric character, the Luca Toni story from Bayern Munich is well worth checking out , but it seems that Man Utd’s manager felt the need to come out all guns blazing this afternoon following Sam Allardyce’s comments.

The recent meeting between West Ham and Man Utd at the Boleyn Grounds finished in a hard-fought and even 1-1 draw but United’s leveller did come from a long diagonal ball played up to Marouane Fellaini who then laid it off for Daley Blind to score.

In his post-match press conference, Sam Allardyce accused Van Gaal’s men of being a ‘long-ball’ team which obviously got under the Dutchman’s skin.

Take a listen to this audio, which starts around the 0:30 mark, there’s definitely shades of Rafa’s rant about the ‘facts’ here.
