The Aussie media are certainly playing their part ahead of James Horwill’s judicial hearing over an alleged stamp on Alun-Wyn Jones in the first Test.

The Wallabies captain would be a huge loss were the decision to acquit him of any wrongdoing be overturned by the IRB and the Melbourne Herald Sun isn’t sitting on the fence over their position on the matter.

With the headline ‘James Horwill needs your support as he faces the most ludicrous hearing in rugby history’, the article is a rallying cry to the public to get behind their second-row by getting using hashtag ‘JusticeForHorwill’ which was quickly trending on social media.

“James Horwill tonight fronts the most ludicrous, unfair judicial hearing in rugby’s history, and possibly in all of sport,” Jamie Pandaram writes in today’s paper.

“Has the IRB not heard of double-jeopardy? Many good films and television programs have been written on the very basis that you cannot be tried for the same crime twice.

“But neither common law nor Hollywood can dissuade the IRB from their mission to rub Horwill out of Saturday’s deciding Test match against the British & Irish Lions.”

The paper says that the IRB credibility is on the line and other media outlets are getting on the bandwagon also.

FOX Sports Australia presenter Sean Maloney, a well-known figure among our readers for his weekly ‘Top 5 tries’ compilation has put together a hard-hitting video that shows what a real stamp is.

Forget the ‘accidental’ incident itself, he demonstrates video evidence of an elephant to highlight what a real stamp is. And he says that one of the real losers in this is the koala bear, greatly affected by recent developments surrounding their inspirational leader!

You can’t fault them for trying!
