The people running Bayern’s twitter account are obviously psychics though…

Well last night in the Champions League was absolutely bonkers.

40 goals were scored in just 8 games which is the second highest amount scored on any Champions League match day, for all you stattos Oct 1st, 1997 is the record date but there was 12 matches played that night.

There was just the eight goals in the Olympic Stadium as Bayern Munich absolutely tore Roma apart with a 7-1 demolition.

Take a look at all of the first-half goals here and an absolute world class save from Manuel Neuer.

The German champions became the first away team to score 7 goals on an Italian soil in European competition and we felt sorry for two people last night.

1) Roma goalkeeper De Sanctis who was as intimidating and effective in goal as Casper the friendly ghost and 2) the people responsible for providing the goal updates on the German’s twitter account, their head must have been melted.

Fair play to whoever was in charge because they got the job done and managed to find some time to brilliantly copy that infamous tweet that West Brom sent on Monday about Marouane Fellaini.

As for Ribery’s night, well the Frenchman came on after 68 mins and then ten minutes later he did this. Fortunate indeed.
