The arrival of any virtual unknown at Old Trafford immediately sparks memories of Bebe but the word on this 18-year-old striker is certainly promising.
With Dimitar Berbatov surplus to requirements, and Javier Hernandez suffering a slump in form, Manchester United could certainly do with another striker.
And, according to reports in all the papers today, the Old Trafford giants have landed themselves a new goalgetter, but not one most of us have heard of before.
Angelo Henriquez, an 18-year-old Chilean striker who plays for Universidad de Chile, is reportedly on his way to Manchester for a fee of around £3million. At that price he is certainly worth a punt and if he turns out to be as good as some expect, it could be a great bit of business.
However, he is still very inexperienced. He has played just 10 times for the Universidad first team, scoring eight goals, so the expectation is that if and when the deal is completed, Henriquez will be loaned out to a club in Europe to acclimatise him to the game on this side of the Atlantic.
The youngster was highly prized, with a number of clubs chasing him. United have been scouting him for a year and now it seems they have won the race for his signature.
Here is the inevitable YouTube clip of his best bits. As always, be warned, this could either be a taster of greatness or a gross misrepresentation of his talent. He looks like a young Michael Owen to us on first viewing.
And if he is as good at 18 as Owen was then this is a superb bit of business by Fergie.
