Brian O’Driscoll has been hit with a three week ban which means he will miss the Amlin quarter-final next month.

The Italian defeat has cost Leinster dearly with first the news that Luke Fitzgerald will miss the rest of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament shortly after coming on as a substitute, while at a disciplinary hearing today in London O’Driscoll was hit with a three week ban.
While he received a yellow card for his misdemeanour on Simone Favaro on Saturday, he was quickly cited by Aurwel Morgan and will now miss the Rabo fixtures at home to Glasgow and Ulster, but perhaps more importantly the Amlin quarter-final away to Wasps.
It was just the second time in O’Driscoll’s career that he has received a yellow card, and adds to the bad news on the Leinster front, with Isa Nacewa expected to return home to New Zealand at the end of the season.
