All-Ireland champions Clare were beaten by Tipperary in the semi-finals of the Allianz Hurling League on Sunday.
Seamus Callanan bagged 12 points as Tipp advanced to face Kilkenny, who had earlier beaten Galway.
Both of Tipperary’s goals came from Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher, although Clare did have the early advantage when Cathal McInerney bundled the ball into the net.
A Patrick Donnellan goal for Clare made it interesting and the Banner managed to get within three points of Tipperary in the second half, but Davy Fitzgerald’s side were never able to get close enough.
