Neil Lennon’s Celtic and Sven Goran Eriksson’s Leicester are duelling for the signature of Stoke City’s Abdoulaye Faye, according to reports.
An injury crisis has ravaged Celtic’s defensive options in recent weeks, with both Thomas Rogne and Daniel Majstorovic in the treatment room.
A loan-deal for Faye was thought to be near completion, only for Leicester to emerge as a possible destination for the Senegalese international.
Eriksson’s team are said to be willing to pay a loan fee and half of the 32-year-old’s wages.
Abdoulaye Faye previously played for Lens, Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle and has 34 caps for his country.
Neil Lennon has had bids rejected for Everton’s James Vaughan, Levski Sofia’s Garra Dembele, Reading’s Shane Long and Kilmarnock’s Conor Sammon in the last few weeks.
