Champions League Love/Hate: The good and the bad from this week’s action

It's good to have European Football back in our lives...

JOE

Matchday two served up some scintillating football and as per usual, there were some things we loved and some things we hated…

Liverpool and Manchester City both struggled and now face an uphill battle to stay in the competition, while Chelsea and Arsenal claimed all three points.

Danny Wellbeck is starting to prove his credentials as a top-class striker after a terrific hat-trick against Galatasaray. He could do worse than following the man below in his quest to become a club legend.

Love – Francesco Totti silences Man City and their Twitter

Manchester City thought it would be a good idea to taunt Roma legend Francesco Totti before the game on Tuesday…

— Manchester City FC (@MCFC) October 1, 2014 Probably wasn’t the brightest idea now, was it?

Love – The prospect of Luis Suarez joining these two

There is no denying Luis Suarez is a great footballer. He is a great deal of other things too, but he is definitely a great footballer. Now imagine him linking with Lionel Messi and Neymar in Barcelona’s attack. JOE doesn’t know whether to be excited or terrified…

Hate – This horror tackle from Felipe Melo on Alexis Sanchez

JOE has seen people arrested for less. Amazingly Melo only received a yellow card.

Hate – Javier Hernandez missing a sitter

After an excruciating couple of years with Manchester United, we hoped Chicharito would return to his best during his loan spell with Madrid. The below miss would indicate otherwise.
