In one of the wildest comebacks in UFC history, Cheick Kongo survived almost being stopped, not once but twice to knock out Pat Barry in the very first round of their fight at UFC Live on Versus 4.
The bout had been moved to the main event and both men took advantage of the spotlight by trading leather and sharp leg kicks early on.
The contest was evenly matched at the start before Barry slowly began turning up the pressure with alternating kicks and punches, before he clipped Kongo with a looping right, knocking him down.
Referee Dan Miragliotta was right on top of the action and let it keep going as Kongo seemed to be struggling badly. Barry peppered him with shots before knocking him down yet for a second time with Kongo gamely trying to fight back.
Barry smelled blood and tried to chase the finish but Kongo stepped back and let his hands explode. Check out the .gif below of the sensational comeback KO:
