Chelsea crashing the bus and Xabi being sound: Champions League week in tweets

It's been a great week of football

JOE

Chelsea’s bus being parked/crashed, David Luiz being David Luiz, Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘drought’ and Xabi Alonso being sound.

It’s been an interesting week in Champions League football and here’s how Twitter reacted.

PSG v Chelsea

Chelsea were up to their old antics before they even got onto the pitch.

Not to worry, David Luiz knows the best way for breaking through Chelsea’s defensive shield… Simpsons’ quotes obviously.

Shakhtar Donetsk v Bayern Munich

Meanwhile, Shakhtar were playing out a snooze-fest against Bayern. Xabi Alonso, being the kind guy he is, gave us poor journalists something interesting to write about.

Schalke v Real Madrid

Real Madrid renewed acquaintances with Schalke last night and Cristiano Ronaldo ended his apparent goal drought. If a month is a drought, we may have to check the dictionary for a new term to describe Kevin Doyle’s form.

Basel v Porto

Porto drew with Basel and look a strong bet to take advantage of their away goal advantage in the second leg. There was some controversy when they had a goal ruled out for offside.

Probably a correct call to be fair.

Anyway, that’s the week in tweets. Come back next week to see what the world of social media is saying about the Champions League.
