Cork are at the top of the Allianz League after a hard fought 1-17 to 0-18 win over Dublin on Saturday evening.

Two late points from Colm O’Neill for the Rebels proved crucial at Croke Park.

Three early points from Cormac Costello helped Jim Gavin’s side into a 0-7 to 0-3 lead, and Dublin looked well capable of stretching their advantage.

However, four points from Daniel Goulding tied up the scores, before good work from Mark Collins and John O’Rourke set up John Hayes for the only goal of the game.

Cork were deserved 1-11 to 0-12 leaders at half-time.

The second half was a far cagier affair, with Dublin not managing to draw level until ten minutes from time.

They shot four points in a row to set up a thrilling finale at 0-17 to 1-14, but it was Cork that pulled clear through scores from Donal Og Hodnett and a fine solo effort from O’Neill.
