Still undefeated, Ulster go into round three of the Heineken Cup with the news that the 25 year-old has committed for another two years.

Many have seen Cave as a potential long-term replacement for Brian O’Driscoll and his commitment to the Ulster cause is hardly a surprise given their outstanding start to the campaign and wants to be part of any future success.

“I honestly think that Ulster are going to win something between now and the summer of 2015 and I would never forgive myself if I wasn’t a part of that,” he said.

Ulster travel to Franklin’s Gardens on Friday night for the first of back-to-back fixtures against Northampton. A win, or even a losing bonus point would leave Mark Anscombe’s team in pole position to qualify from their pool.
