David de Gea has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid from Manchester United this summer.

Journalist Josep Pedrerol made the claim on Spanish television, announcing that De Gea – nominated for the PFA Player Of The Year award – has agreed to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale et al.

“The club considered many options for the goalkeeping situation but have decided on De Gea,” said Pedrerol.

“And David de Gea is clear… he wants to be the Real Madrid goalkeeper.

“One of the problems had been the future (or not) of Iker Casillas but this is no longer an impediment to the signing of De Gea.

“Only an agreement between the clubs is lacking.”

It is thought that Real will make an offer United can’t refuse for the 24-year-old, despite the fact that De Gea is a former Atletico Madrid player.
