In a retirement shorter than a Kardashian marriage, David Haye has confirmed he is talks to get back in the ring next year.
The former WBA heavyweight champion was beaten by Wladimir Klitschko in July but he has now announced work has began on arranging a fight with the other Klitschko, Vitali.
“I haven’t seen a contract but there’s definitely talks going on,” he told the BBC.
“I said before I retired I would love that fight and there is a date in March that has already been talked about.”
Haye always said he would retire before his 31st birthday and he duly did in October but less than two months later it seems the Hayemaker is going to fight again.
And they wonder why we don’t always take boxing too seriously.
Anyway, Vitali, holder of the WBC title, is probably an easier fight for Haye than Wladimir so it does present the British fighter with his best chance of getting back a belt.
