Aston Villa duo Richard Dunne and Ciaran Clark and Hull City defender Kevin Kilbane have withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad for Wednesday night’s friendly with Norway.

Dunne is suffering from a knee injury; Clark misses out due to a calf problem, while Kilbane has been ruled out with a back injury.

Robbie Keane (ankle), Caleb Folan (knee) and Paul McShane (thigh) will also miss out, although Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni does not intend on bringing in any new players into the squad.

Sean St Ledger is also a doubt after hurting his knee in Preston’s encounter with Hull last Friday.

Ireland’s clash with Norway takes place at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday at 7.45pm.
