Eamon Dunphy will be sick as Wes Hoolahan leaves the field injured before Ireland play Wales

Carl Kinsella

Somebody better go check on Eamon…

Ireland’s tough clash with next week just got that little bit tougher as Wes Hoolahan left the field injured during the first-half of Norwich vs Barnsley.

Though he isn’t getting any younger, Hoolahan played a crucial role for Ireland in the Euros  — scoring our opener against Sweden, and setting up Robbie Brady’s fabled header against the Italians.

Technically, he might just be the best we’ve got, so to lose him ahead of pivotal clash with Wales will be a serious worry for Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane.

Daniel McDonnell reported on the injury, though the game is still going on and it’s unclear just how bad the situation is just yet.

If Wes does end up missing the game, Ireland will be missing to of their best as Brady is set to miss the game through suspension.
