Special Olympics Munster, with a little help from University of Limerick’s University’s Outdoor Pursuits Club, are running a brilliant fund raiser at the iconic home of Munster rugby on May 26.

For just €50, you can abseil off the roof of the famous stadium, with the money raised going to Special Olympics Munster.

Siobhan Nolan, Regional Fundraising Coordinator for Special Olympics Munster, “Not only will this event provide people with a fun event and complete a personal challenge,  it will also help raise essential funding for Special Olympics Munster. This really will be a great occasion and we would encourage all that can to take part and make a real difference”.

Speaking on behalf of the UL Outdoor Pursuits Club, Dave O‘Connell said, “We are delighted to be involved in this once in a lifetime event for Special Olympics. It’s great that Limerick has again been chosen as the host city for the 2014 Special Olympics Ireland Games. We really want the people of Limerick to get involved and to help raise funds for Special Olympics as our city prepares for another fantastic experience in 2014”.

Funds raised from this event will go towards supporting Special Olympics in Munster. Special Olympics Munster region covers the counties of Cork, Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford and provides sports training and competition opportunities in 13 different sports to 2,500 athletes.

The cost per person to undertake the abseil is €50 per person. For more information please contact Siobhan on 085 8053242 or email siobhan.nolan@specialolympics.ie Information can also be found on www.specialolympics.ie/munster
