Two dubious assists helped Ashley Young to the title of player of the week, while Noel Cahill continues to blaze a trail in the Champion J-League.

Gameweek 3 review
In last week’s fantasy football review, we hailed the impact the two Manchester clubs were making at such an early stage, but given their opposition over the weekend, we never could we have imagined that they would go to town in such spectacular fashion once again.
Player of the weekend was Ashley Young, who came in with 23 points, although it was hugely generous of the powers that be to credit him with two assists for stopping the ball for both of Wayne Rooney’s free-kicks.
Rooney himself weighed in with a hat-trick, an assist and a couple of bonus points for 19 points. The only pity for fantasy managers is that the international break will briefly halt the momentum of a man who is in the form of his life at present, because when he’s in this sort of a mood, he has to be in your fantasy team, end of story!
Down at White Hart Lane, Edin Dzeko went one better than Rooney and bagged himself four goals for 21 points, but his display was arguably eclipsed by the contribution of new boy Samir Nasri, who marked his City debut with 15 points thanks to three assists, and none of them were for stopping the ball for a Wayne Rooney free-kick.
Elsewhere, Tim Howard’s penalty save against Blackburn may well be explained by the fact that Junior Hoilett didn’t know where he was because of Everton’s ridiculous camouflaged goalkeeping jersey. In any case, that save and a clean sheet led to 14 points for the foul-mouthed American.
There were other notable contributions from Wigan duo Emerson Boyce (10) and Franco Di Santo (13), Liverpool pair Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam (both 11) and our own Leon Best (13), whose two goals against Fulham meant that the headlines were on him for the right reasons rather than for some exhibitionism in a Newcastle nightclub.
Champion J-League
Noel Cahill’s Fsg j.henry continue to fly the flag in the Champion J-League after a whopping 93 points at the weekend, 63 of which came from the magnificent trio of Young, Dzeko and Rooney. In fact, everyone in the top five came in with in and around 90 points this week, surely a testament to the magnificent quality of the league as a whole!
Stephen McHugh’s Barca 99 are five points behind in second, with Anton Leong’s Knee Deep UTD snapping at his heels in third place. Thomas Maher’s selection T-Bone and Mick Munnelly’s Tipp Tangos make up the rest of the top five.
In JOE Towers, Nick Bradshaw’s decision to award Wayne Rooney the captaincy means that his team I could live in IKEA remain in pole position, three points ahead of my own outfit Cool Under Pressure. Honourable mention must go to Emmet Purcell’s Team Cobra (he made me do it), who lifted themselves off the bottom of the table with an admirable 78 points, which puts him within touching distance (63 points) of the lead.
Champion J-League Top 5:
1. Fsg j.henry – Noel Cahill: 225 points
2. Barca99 – Stephen McHugh: 220 points
3. Knee deep UTD – Anton Leong: 219 points
4. T-Bone – Thomas Maher: 215 points
5. Tipp Tangos – Mick Munnelly: 214 points
