Fantasy GAA XV: A team of All-Ireland club football-winning Connacht legends

What. A. Team.

What. A. Team.

As is the case in every sport, putting together fantasy teams, often during heated debate over a few pints, is a favourite pastime of GAA supporters.

With the AIB GAA Club Championships now entering their final stages, we decided to go province by province and select a fantasy XV of players who have won an All-Ireland title with their clubs.

We should stress that only players who WON an All-Ireland SENIOR club title are eligible for selection, but the pick is still pretty vast.

If there was any doubt about that, the likes of Sean Armstrong, Ger Brady and Alan Kerins failed to make our first team, which is made up of players from Connacht clubs who have lifted the All-Ireland club football title.

In the end, our XV is made up of six players from Galway, five from Mayo and four Roscommon men and although Ray Silke and Karol Mannion are playing in positions that might not be their first-choice, this outfit would take some beating.

And, dare we say it, with ‘Cake’ Curran, David Brady and Frankie Dolan in the mix, the dressing room would be some craic too.
