And not a single Crossmaglen player made the cut.
We’re obviously joking.
With only one round left of the AIB GAA Club Championships we’ve been continuing our journey around the provinces to pick fantasy selections made up of some of the best players to have tasted glory on the club scene over the years.
This time, it’s the turn of Ulster football, with clubs from the province collecting twelve titles in the All-Ireland club series to date; the famous Crossmaglen Rangers club from Armagh being responsible for half of those.
We should stress that only players who WON an All-Ireland SENIOR club title are eligible for selection, but the pick is still pretty wide.
In the end, we had to leave out some serious players and the omission of Crossmaglen’s Stephen Kernan, for example, was a very tough call.
That said, we’ve assembled what we think is a serious XV made up of six Armagh men, four Derry men, three from Down, one from Antrim and a man who represented both Fermanagh and Cavan in his playing days.
When you’re done scrolling through this bunch of All-Stars, why not check out our Connacht and Munster selections.
