5. Henry Tillman
After Tyson’s defeat in Tokyo to James “Buster” Douglas, he was hungry to take revenge on somebody. Poor Henry had unwisely reminded people he defeated Mike when they were amateurs and bragged he would do it again. Not a good idea.
4. Marvis Frazier
Marvis Frazier is the son of former heavyweight champion Joe Frazier, but unfortunately for him, that pedigree was never going to stop the Tyson express train.
3. Donnie Long
A spate of first round knock-outs, like this battering received by Donnie Long, helped to bring Tyson to the attention of boxing fans the world over.
2. Michael Johnson
The general public was still finding out who this young heavyweight sensation was when he faced Johnson, and it’s knock-outs like this that cemented his reputation.
1. Michael Spinks
Spinks had stepped away from boxing for a while but his return to face Tyson was supposed to provide the upstart champion with a true test. It didn’t work out that way.
