It has been at least five days since there’s been a major Roy Keane story after all.
The Ireland assistant manager has barely been out of the news for a variety of reasons in recent weeks and he won’t be for a while yet if comments in an upcoming interview with football magazine Four Four Two are anything to go by.
The interview with Keane is included in the January edition of the popular magazine which goes on sale tomorrow, but Sam Pilger, the journalist who conducted the interview, tweeted a few snippets of what’s in store from his account last night.
Unsurprisingly, most of the juicy bits revolve around Keane’s relationship with former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson, who Keane said he would be willing to make up with if Fergie was willing to offer an apology for the manner in which their relationship deteriorated.
The fall-out between the pair has led to criticism of Keane from some Manchester United fans and Keano had one simple message for those taking Fergie’s side…
Keane: “If United fans say I had a decent career then brilliant. If they want to say, ‘What’s gone on with Ferguson stuff?’ then fuck them.”

Would you make up with Ferguson over a pint?” Roy Keane: “Well, it would be a cup of tea. If Sir Alex apologises, then yes, I would” #MUFC

Keane: “If Ferguson apologises I would be happy to move on…For Ferguson to bad mouth me after I left, I think he does owe me an apology”

Apart from that, as is usually the case with Keano, there appear to be plenty on interesting nuggets in the interview, from his kids slagging him about supporting England, his battles with Patrick Vieira amongst others and, God forbid, that he’s not ruling out joining Twitter at some stage.
Roy Keane: “My kids tease me about supporting England, a bit of banter, but they are Ireland all day.”

Surprisingly Roy Keane didn’t rule out possibly joining Twitter…

Now, THAT would be interesting.
