The ward of words continues with this expletive-fueled rant.
Boxing and UFC are two completely different sports but there’s one golden rule that applies to both, being able to trash talk and garner column inches will usually result in a bigger cheque for a fight. Nobody does this better than Conor McGregor and it seems that his ongoing feud with Floyd Mayweather is showing no signs of slowing down.
Jeff Mayweather, Floyd’s uncle, had some very interesting things to say about the UFC featherweight champion in a recent interview with Fight Hype.
There are no verbal punches pulled here as Mayweather embarks on a expletive-ridden rant, claiming that McGregor shouldn’t be getting credit for moving up two weight classes and losing.
“If Conor McGregor would have fu**ing won, oh my God, he would have been the greatest thing since fucking ice cream. But since he lost, now they want to give him credit for going up; going up and getting his ass whooped.”
“You don’t get no credit for that. You chose to do that. You accepted that man’s challenge and talked plenty of shit about him, then you got your ass whooped by him. You made fun of him teaching Jiu Jitsu classes to children and then got choked the fuck out. You don’t get no damn honor points for that shit. I look at it this way, they ain’t got nobody else that can fucking mention Floyd’s name”, he says.
Mayweather has also accused McGregor of using this ongoing feud with his nephew as a way to further his own career.
“It’s one of those things where the UFC was building their brand and building their fighters up off of Floyd’s name. First of all, it ain’t never going to happen, so it’s just talk, and the only way that you can make yourself seem like you are bigger than what you really are is to call out the best guy in his sport, who has actually proven to everyone what he can do.”
Mayweather then had a pop at McGregor over his recent loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 196.
“They want to make it like Conor McGregor is so great because he went up and got his ass whooped. Wow! That’s great? You went up and got your ass whooped. It would have been great if you went up and did something and you actually won; just like Floyd did in five different weight classes.”
McGregor’s reply to these comments be pretty interesting.
