Shamrock Rovers were paired with an Estonian side in the draw for the first and second rounds of the Champions League qualifiers while Linfield face Belarusian opposition.
The Hoops, who won the Airtricity League last term and are currently top the table for this season, will take on FC Flora Tallinn in their second round meeting in Tallinn, Esontia.
Rovers, who were beaten by Italian giants Juventus during last season’s Europa League qualifiers, will be at home for their first leg match on 12/13 July before their away trip on July 19/20.
Northern Ireland side Linfield were handed the most difficult possible second-round qualifying tie against top seeded side BATE Borisov of Belarus. It won’t be easy but the Belfast-based side will do all within their power to master BATE.
The Irish League champions will be looking to also take full advantage of the first leg home game Windsor Park in Belfast on July 12/13 against the only Belarusian team to have qualified for the group stage of the Champions League, during the 2008-09 season.
Should either Rovers or Linfield make it through to the third qualifying round, there is the chance they could face Scottish giants Rangers.
