There wasn’t an empty seat in Croke Park for the All-Ireland final between Dublin and Mayo and while Stephen Rochford’s side are arguably the happier of the two teams, Mayo’s happiness was probably trumped by those in the GAA HQ.
Why is this? Well, the replay is reported to be worth a cool €3m but to the GAA’s credit, tickets for the October 1st match will be even cheaper than the first meeting.
Tickets for the stands will be available for the reduced price of €60 while admission to Hill 16 will be available at €30.
In addition, there will be a limited number of €10 tickets available for Under 16s from the competing counties only.
There will be no tickets on general sale. Tickets will be distributed to clubs via our county committees and to 6,700 GAA Season Ticket holders from competing counties (including 1300 juveniles).
The tickets are so cheap that even Michelle Mulherin won’t have to make a protest.
