Tipp’s Seamus Callanan took the honours, with Kilkenny’s TJ Reid not far behind.
All summer the good folks at Liberty Insurance have been keeping track of lots of stats but the one we loved the most was the one regarding the hardest hurling shots.
TJ Reid will end the Championship with the accolade of the hardest shot of the year, clocking a phenomonal 181.1kph in the semi-final win over Limerick but the Kilkenny man was not the hardest hitter in the All-Ireland final replay on Saturday.
That honour fell to Seamus Callanan, who struck one ball at 172kph (107mph) during the losing effort to the Cats.

That is just six kph shy of the winds in a Category 3 hurricane, proving once again that hurling goalkeepers are the bravest men in sport, bar none.
