A scrappy affair.

0-0 in Vienna at half-time after, let’s face it, a very dull 45 minutes. Neither team lit the world on fire, but both teams had a chance each that they will be disappointed didn’t go in.

Walters went very close for Ireland after a beautiful piece of play from Brady and Hoolohan on the left-hand side before the Stoke man missed from no more than six yards out, scooping the ball over the bar.

Austria went very close with Marco Arnautovic hitting the crossbar with a delightful chip, and have had a few half chances, but nothing too clear. Despite that, Ireland a couple of chances, mostly from set-pieces, but none were taken.
