We all knew that this day was coming, but we still got a lump in our throat after hearing the news that Ireland’s record goalscorer will be retiring after the upcoming friendly with Oman.

In simple terms, Irish football will have to wait a long time before we see another Robbie Keane because his appearance and goalscoring record was remarkable.

Here’s our tribute to Ireland’s record goalscorer.
