Plenty of people have had their say on the whole Lance Armstrong debacle but there hadn’t been a peep out of the man himself. Until now, that is.
In recent weeks, Armstrong has been labelled by USADA as the man behind the most sophisticated doping programme ever seen in sport, has been stripped of his seven Tour De France titles and has basically had his reputation torn to shreds, so it’s perhaps no surprise that he hasn’t been as active as usual on his Twitter account.
Since October 12, his only activity on the account was to re-tweet two posts from the Livestrong Foundation – one of which was to confirm that he had stepped down as chairman – and to remove the winner of seven Tour de France titles line from his Twitter bio.
Those who still support the Texan will be glad to know that he hasn’t completely disappeared off the face of the earth; however, instead he’s relocated himself to one of its most beautiful – and most remote – locations.
Armstrong posted the below tweet last night and judging by the 1,300+ retweets, it seems as if there were a lot of people interested in his whereabouts.

Far be it from us to suggest that Lance Armstrong might be guilty of deception of any kind, but it appears to us as if the responses to the tweet have been tampered with a little, as we can’t imagine that all of them would be as positive as the ones that are still there.
Saying that, it’s Armstrong’s account and he’s entitled to do with it what he will and besides, we can only imagine that some of the more negative feedback might be a little extreme for some people’s eyes in any case.
Now that he’s broken his Twitter silence, what are the chances of him offering some sort of public response to the extremely serious and incredibly detailed allegations made against him of late?
We could be waiting a little while longer for that, we reckon.
