Good enough to beat Slovakia?
Eunan O’Kane has been handed his first start by Martin O’Neill for Ireland’s friendly clash with Slovakia this evening.
A lengthy injury list has narrowed the options available to manager Martin O’Neill, but he’s still been able to name a decent side for the clash against Slovakia, which will be the third last outing for the Boys in Green before the Euros this summer.
O’Kane starts alongside Glenn Whelan and James McCarthy in midfield, while James McClean and Wes Hoolahan will provide support for Shane Long up front.
Paul McShane partners John O’Shea at centre-half, with Cyrus Christie and Stephen Ward on the flanks ahead of Rob Elliott between the sticks.
IRELAND TEAM TO PLAY SLOVAKIA: Elliot, Christie, O’Shea, McShane, Ward, O’Kane, Whelan, McCarthy, Hoolahan, Long, McClean.
Kick-off at the Aviva Stadium is at 7.45pm.
Come on you boys in green!
