It’s that time of year folks.
15 days. 15 agonising days.
That’s all we have to wait before the Premier League returns and some form of normality returns to the lives of those of us who missed it terribly during the summer.
With no major tournament to temporarily occupy our attention, pre-season games and transfer sagas seemed more important than ever over the last few months, but thankfully the serious business is only around the corner.
What that also means is that Fantasy Football is back and it’s back in a big way.
Sure, it means that some of you will spend the next 40 or so Friday nights and Saturday mornings agonising over team and captain selections.
And some of you will probably end up throwing your cup of tea towards Paul Merson’s face on TV when he reveals on Soccer Saturday that the man you just transferred out of your team has completed his hat-trick.
But it’s that combination of euphoria and despair that makes Fantasy Football and we’re sure as hell delighted that it’s about to return.
As has been the case for the last few years, we’ll be inviting JOE readers to take part in our own J-League.
It’s a league that already contains thousands of teams and has consistently reached astoundingly high levels of quality, with the leader of our league often topping the charts in Ireland and rubbing shoulders with the best the world has to offer.
If you were in last year’s league, don’t worry about a thing, you’ll be automatically entered again this time around. If you weren’t in the league last year, simply go to fantasy.premierleague.com and enter the code for the J-League: 275852-74016.
And don’t be shy, tell your friends too.
We’ll be informing readers of that code regularly between now and the first day of the new season, but we will be strictly enforcing the same deadline as the Fantasy Premier League website, so if you’re not in by 11:45 on Saturday, August 8, then you, my friend, are sh*t out of luck.
