There are growing fears in New Zealand that Richie McCaw will not be fit to play against Australia on Sunday.

The flanker has been carrying a foot injury for months now but the presence of Matt Todd at training in Auckland has only increased the speculation that McCaw will have to sit out the massive clash World Cup semi-final clash with their great rivals.

McCaw sat out the last 15 minutes of the All Blacks training session overnight but Todd is not yet officially in the squad.

The 100-cap veteran had a screw inserted in his foot earlier this year and he missed the pool games against Canada and Japan because of the foot problem.

If McCaw does miss the game it will be a huge boost to Australian hopes, compounding the losses the Kiwis are already dealing with of Dan Carter, Colin Slade and Mils Muliaina.
