Croatia head coach Slaven Bilic has divulged the key to preparations for tonight’s international friendly – bringing all his players to see The Pogues in Zagreb.
“We have done the homework – we even went to see The Pogues in Zagreb!” Bilic said.
“They were playing in a small open-air arena to about three or four thousand people. They are very popular – they are a world-class band.”
The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan has often been described as “world class”, but it has usually been more to do with barroom banter and ‘Streams of Whiskey’.
