We always knew he was destined for greatness…
Brian O’Driscoll is being touted as a possible President of the newly created European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) by some of the leading figures in French Rugby.
French officials at the French Federation (FFR) and the Ligue National de Rugby (LNR) are keen on the idea of an Irish man being President of the new rugby body in a bid to wrestle some of the power away from the English Premiership sides.
According to the Irish Times, French officials would preferably like a recently retired player as head of the EPCR, with our very own BOD, a veteran of four Lions tours and holding over 100 caps for Ireland, being the perfect fit apparently.
However, BOD is yet to be approached for the role and his commitments to broadcasting with BT Sports and Newstalk would surely conflict with some of his Presidential duties making the deal seem unlikely.
With the Champions Cup kicking off in less than four weeks, the race is one to find a suitable candidate for the position and JOE would like to throw our name into the hat having recently retired from junior rugby following an injury blighted career.
Whether or not the deal goes through, JOE would love to see BOD in a sash and crown*.
*JOE would like to point out that he will receive neither a sash or a crown for his duties despite our shite expert photoshop skills above.
