The tedious debate continues.
You have probably heard by now that Irish international James McClean suffered abuse from both Manchester United and West Brom fans at Old Trafford yesterday for his continued refusal to wear a poppy.
As reported by the Irish Independent, the winger actually did receive quite a bit of Twitter support to combat his haters.
James McClean not wearing a poppy doesn't make him a bad person. Remember that. #poppyfascism

Some pretty vile abuse for #JamesMcClean this afternoon. #PoppyNazis out in full strength. #FreedomOfChoice obviously means little

James McClean made clear long ago he wouldn't be wearing a poppy. Don't understand why it's reported every year like it's something new

While the message in the last tweet is consistently repeated by his defenders and McClean himself, the Derry man saw fit to respond to this tweet in particular.
@JamesMcC14 YOU WILL BE LEAVING GREAT BRITAIN BY FORCE SAY YOUR GOODBYES,BECAUSE YOU WONT BE MISSED AND WE CAN CLAIM ALL THE QUEENS MONEY.

The reason being because a separate quote in the user’s profile read: “You have enemies? Good. That means you have stood up for something sometime in your life.”
McClean responded:
@ebenezascrooge1 how ironics your profile pic ? ?? this is the stupidity you have to deal with ?

The saga continues.
