It’s that time of the week again – our countdown of the best five goals we’ve seen from around the world over the last few days.

5. Jone Samuelson (Odd Grenland v Tromso)

If you’re looking for a little more detail on this oddity from Odd Grenland, be sure to click our story on Samuelson’s goal that came from a header inside his own half. That’s right… inside his own half. As that’s quite a rarity, we thought that it merits a mention in our top weekend goals too.

4. Erik Huseklepp (Portsmouth v Blackpool)

If you’re going to win a game for your club in the fourth minute of stoppage time, this is exactly how you’ll want to do it. Take a bow, Erik Huseklepp of Portsmouth.

3. Raphael Varane (Real Madrid v Rayo Vallecano)

The subject of a summer transfer tug-of-war between Real Madrid and Manchester United, young French defender Raphael Varane showed United what they’re missing with a cooly taken debut goal for his new club in a 6-2 rout of Rayo Vallecano.

2. Joe Cole (Lille v Lorient)

Who is this Ligue 1 midfielder and what has he done to Joe Cole? After a lovely assist in his debut game for the French champions, Joe Cole kept up his surprisingly excellent form with a rasper of a shot to mark his first goal for Lille.

1. Nani (Stoke City v Manchester United)

After an absolute cracker against Chelsea for last week’s top weekend goals, Nani takes the crown once more with a well-worked attack against Stoke and a sumptuous finish. Apologies for the quality of the below clip, but the quality of the strike shines through.
