Hennessy Gold Cup Day at Leopardstown on Sunday has our mouths watering with some top quality national hunt racing in store. JOE’s Weekend Fancies, in association with Boylesports.

Dermot Weld’s UNACCOMPANIED looks the best juvenile hurdler in the country right now, albeit with a serious lack of competition.
The first race at Leopardstown on Sunday serves up an 11-runner contest and it’s difficult to see anything in the field close to his class.
Go for a Weld double with this fella and HIDDEN UNIVERSE in the Grade 1 Deloitte Novice Hurdle.
It’s a very competitive race including two Willie Mullins runners that earn respect but I think it’s worth taking a punt of Weld in this one.
The feature event at 3.45, the Hennessy Gold Cup over 3m, will depend a lot on ground conditions. I think if it dries a little you can expect KEMPES to go very close.
He won a Grade 1 at Punchestown last season and ran well at Fairyhouse over an adequate trip to finish behind the impressive Golden Silver.
It won’t be the greatest Hennessy ever but I reckon Kempes will have what it takes to scoot in.
JOE’s Weekend Fancies:
Unaccompanied and Hidden Universe, 2pts double
Kempes, 2pts win
