Man United 2-1 Liverpool: Giggs to join Gary Neville on Monday Night Football

Tony Cuddihy

Ryan Giggs will join his former Manchester United team-mate Gary Neville on Monday Night Football for Liverpool v Manchester United.

The bitter rivals face each other at Anfield next Monday night as the show is broadcast live from a stadium for the first time in eight years.

He will be joined by both Neville and Jamie Carragher, who can expect a tougher time than usual from two ex-players he faced many times in, arguably, the biggest fixture in England.

Giggs Neville

Giggs, currently without a job after ending his association with United in the summer, will once again run the rule over Daniel Sturridge having been critical of the Liverpool striker during England’s draw with Slovenia.

Speaking on ITV Sport, Giggs said: “He has everything. He’s got a good touch, good finisher, he’s quick, he can run the channels but to be a top, top player… decision-making.

“You have to make the right decisions. You have to make the right decisions more often than you make bad decisions. Today there were just too many bad decisions.”
