Sport fans face a dilemma on Sunday as Kerry’s game with Dublin is set to clash with Ireland’s Six Nations game with England.

Any Irish sports fans settling into their ass groove in the couch on Sunday afternoon is going to have to make a painful choice.

The Allianz Football League big game of the week sees Kerry host Dublin in Killarney. Originally scheduled for the Saturday night in Tralee, a reduced capacity there is touted as the reason for the switch to Killarney, which was made before Christmas.

Others have suggested that the involvement of Kerry boss Eamonn Fitzmaurice and Paul Galivin in Finuge’s All-Ireland intermediate club final on Saturday night had something to do with it, a charge rejected by the Kerry spokesperson John O’Leary in today’s Irish Times.

But the real issue over the game is for the fans who now have to chose between heading to Killarney for the big game, or watching it on TG4. With throw-in set for 2pm, and with the Six Nations clash at Aviva between Ireland and England kicking off at 3pm, you won’t be able to watch both.

That will surely affect both the attendance and the TV audience for arguably the most glamourous game of the Allianz League.

Kerry have confirmed they won’t be moving the tie so it looks like a tough decision, or some high-speed channel hopping, will have to be made.
