The Munster scrum-half has been in flying form for the English side since he was signed as cover for the injured Michael Classens, but has made the number nine jersey his own and decided to stay at the Rec next season.
“I still feel like I have a lot to give on the rugby field, and really wanted to keep on playing, so was happy to agree a new contract here,” he said.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time with Bath so far, and am looking forward to next season already.”
With 232 caps for Munster and 98 international appearances for Ireland, Stringer has brought no shortage of experience to the Aviva Premiership side and head coach Gary Gold is delighted with his decision to extend his stay in England.
“We’re really pleased he’s agreed to stay here for next season rather than going back to Ireland,” he told the club website.
“He is the consummate professional in everything he does, both on and off the field, and that sets a great example for the entire squad.”
Stringer was in the headlines at the weekend after being on the receiving end of a disgusting spitting incident in the Amlin Challenge Cup.
