Once, twice, three times a Gunner; is Thierry Henry going to play for Arsenal again?

They say you should never go back but it worked out pretty well for Henry and Arsenal last time. Will the Frenchman go on loan to the Emirates again in January?

This time last year, the first stories about Thierry Henry training with Arsenal surfaced. We reported them at the time but we didn’t really think it would go beyond  the Frenchman doing a few laps to keep the winter weight down in the MLS off-season.

However, even at 34 Arsene Wenger liked what he saw from his former star, got Henry on loan for seven games and he had quite an impact, scoring the winner in an FA Cup tie with Leeds before signing off with a last-minute winner against Sunderland in the league.

Today it is being widely reported that once again Henry will train with the Gunners while his New York Red Bulls are on a break and the rumour mill has started again.

It is understood Henry is keen to try and add to his record breaking 228 goals for Arsenal and after the impact he had last term don’t be surprised if Henry is soon terrorising Premier League defences for a third time.

And with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool all on Arsenal’s plate during January, we’re sure Arsene Wenger would appreciate the option of having Henry to call on from the bench.

It just makes too much sense for it not to happen, right?
