Pablo Escobar scored twice for Bolivia last night and Narcos fans just couldn’t help themselves

Paul Moore

El Patron is lethal.

World Cup qualifiers weren’t just taking place in Europe this week as Round 10 of the South American section got underway.

As things currently stand, Brazil and Uruguay are leading the charge – no surprises there – but what’s interesting is that Ecuador, Colombia and Argentina are the remaining sides that are currently occupying the automatic qualification places.

Things are bound to change in the coming months, but it’s safe to say that Bolivia won’t be playing at Russia 2018 despite the fact that a brace from Pablo Escobar helped them secure a 2-2 draw with high-flying Ecuador.

In doing so, Escobar became the oldest goalscorer in the history of South America’s World Cup qualifying section.

While we’re fairly certain that his name is quite popular in South America, Narcos fans were having an absolute field day after hearing this news.

To be fair, the 38-year-old hitman does play for a team called The Strongest and his first goal was an absolute peach. Even Murphy and Peña would applaud this hit.
