So this is what a god looks like aged 6…
Sometimes JOE is so amazed by the godlike talents of Lionel Messi that we have to take a step back and assure ourselves that he is in fact just a normal person like us and not some divine presence… probably.
We like to think that he watches Game of Thrones and plays FIFA just like we do but that the trophy cabinet in his living room boasts more shiny things than Scrooge McDucks vault while ours only contains the ribbon we won for the ’95 egg and spoon race.
The young Argentinian had to learn his craft somewhere and he did it at Newell’s Old Boys in ’94 before moving to the Nou Camp.
A few days ago we brought you a similar image of Cristiano Ronaldo at Sporting Lisbon but such is the marvellous rivalry between the two that we had to bring you Messi also. Cue the debate about who was more baby-faced and had the better pog collection.
Look at that little face, who would think that he would grow up to smash records, destroy defenders and basically become a god amongst mere footballers?
