PIC: This Galway GAA game had the most junior football moment ever at the weekend

Alan Loughnane

We love this…

Dunmore took on Glinsk at the weekend in the Galway Junior A Football Championship in what was an exciting contest with Glinsk emerging victorious on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-11.

But in the contest, the best moment of the game came from the referee prior to the throw in as he spoke with the two captains.

The referee performed the standard coin toss to decide who would get the advantage of the breeze during the match, and this is where things got interesting.

He flipped the coin and lost sight it as it swung through the air. Once it fell to the grass, it went out of sight before the referee could spot whether it was heads or tails.

He enlisted the help of some of the players to try and retrieve it and this great photo of the moment was snapped by Brian Curley.

Five minutes later, the coin was nowhere to be found and the referee resorted to a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors to pick sides.

There’s no word whether he did best out of three or a one off game…

Cheers to Aiden Brennan for sending this our way.
