So many column inches, TV segments and discussions have rightfully been designated towards the worlds most gifted footballer and it feels like there’s no more superlatives left to describe his genius.
Messi may not have had his best game or got his name on the scoresheet tonight, Mathieu and Luis Suarez got those honours, but he was busy and almost scored with a wonderful curling effort.
Like the rest of the football loving world, Gary Lineker was watching his former club and it seems that a fair few people on Twitter took umbrage with just how much the BBC host was praising the Barca star throughout the evening.
Lineker’s reply to all of his critics instantly reminds us of the classic lovely girls episode of Fr Ted.
