It’s certainly different.
As a league, the MLS has made some huge strides in becoming one of the world’s biggest leagues as the likes of Pirlo, Lampard, Villa and Gerrard have all been drawn Stateside by their desire to collect a bumper payday develop the game in the US.
While the standard of football has unquestionably improved, both on and off the pitch, there still remains that lingering doubt that our American friends just don’t grasp or talk about the beautiful game in the same way that we do.
While there’s some truly outstanding sports journalism from American writers, this isn’t what you would call the finest example of a match-report.
To be fair, haven’t we all confused Adnan Januzaj with a jacuzzi before?
Am I the only one that can’t help but read this report with an American accent in my head?
